Terence Sexton
I work as a Leadership Psychologist and am the author of ‘Consciousness Beyond Consumerism: A Psychological Path to Sustainability’.
Having a keen interest in consciousness and leadership development, I am currently studying for a PhD in Applied Transpersonal Psychology with the Alef Trust and Liverpool John Moores University. My research focuses on how changemakers can develop their consciousness, so they gain the leadership capability needed to address the challenges society is currently facing.
Before becoming a Leadership Psychologist, I worked for 12 years in the construction industry. Starting as a site manager, I performed many roles before becoming the leader of a major culture change programme for a major international contractor. Since then, I have gained over 25 years of experience working as a Leadership Psychologist in a wide range of industries. I now mainly work with leaders, engaging them in Executive Profiling, Executive Coaching and Leadership Development. In recent years, my focus has been on sustainability leadership, through enabling corporate leaders and changemakers to gain greater connections with nature, other people and their spiritual self.
I am a member of the British Psychological Society and a fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts (FRSA). I have been a guest lecturer at the University of Chichester, the University of Kent and the Centre for Alternative Technology. I hold a BSc. Hons. in Psychology, an MSc. in Occupational Psychology and an MBA and have been trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Gestalt Coaching, Buddhist Psychotherapy, Psychosynthesis and Sophrology. I have also gained a Certificate in Leadership and Facilitation from Schumacher College.
